Portland Timbers to Face OSU on April 9
By: Bob Kellett | April 2nd, 2008
The official party line is that the Portland Timbers only have one more exhibition match left — a game against the University of Portland on April 11. That’s only part of the story. The Timbers are scheduled to face the University of Washington and Oregon State University on Saturday at The Clive. They’ll play each side for 35 minutes. According to the OSU website, the Timbers are also going to travel to Corvallis to play the Beavers on April 9. No real surprise. The Timbers seem to play an exhibition there ever year and they should because Beavers coach Dana Taylor has done an excellent job building his program. I only hope that one of you can attend and report back on the game. You know the club is going to downplay it.
Two other tiny bits of news. Former Timbers keeper and current Puerto Rico national team member Josh Saunders (Hablas espanol, Josh?) is on trial with the Chicago Fire. There’s also a story today about how to own a professional sports team the Merritt Paulson way.

If work permits, I’ll head down to Corvallis for the match. It will give me an opportunity to try out my cameras video feature.

I’ll be there for this one, since my soon-to-be hometown team is coming to my soon-to-be-ex-hometown.
