thank you for the commentary. I will be using info, as I am doing commentary of the Timbers v. Miami FC match. Am sorry to see that you were disappointed in Islanders broadcast. It's getting the tech kinks out but there is much enthusiasm and atmosphere, at Loubriel. I grew up in PR, and after 6 World Cups, still enjoy doing USL. Look forward to your comments (and criticism) on match action. Keyvan

I missed this one, but based on readings Bob's comments and the linked articles, plus watching the other games, I think it's pretty safe to say at this point that if there's an obvious weak link on this team it's the midfield. Especially the central midfield. They just haven't been good at dictating any tempo, distributing, or linking effectively at all with the forwards. Higgins isn't the answer at holding mid, and while AFG still has his moments, let's face it, he's 64 years old, slower than ever, and his usually effective free kicks have been off so far this season. Gavin just needs to keep tinkering with the different player combos and hopefully that part of the field will eventually mesh as the season goes on, because if there's a main reason why the three recent draws weren't wins it's because we lose the midfield battle every night and can't coherently link with the forwards unless it's directly from the defense by just booting it over the middies' heads.

Great to see Little get his first assist - Alba Gu Brath. I agree fully on the Islander commentators. If I was listening to only the audio, I would have thought it was a one-on-one match between two guys named "The Portland player" and "The Islanders player" because that's all they ever called them. And the poorly remembered Andres Escobar story ... classy. Considering how the match started, a draw is a great result.

I can't believe you are even thinking about another target forward when Brown has 3 goals and an assist. We still haven't lost so we should be very proud.

I agree. That backline was awful. Almost as bad as the Islanders broadcasters. Ouch. I hope Gavin will finally bench Higgins and and start Little and Guante out wide and Poitl and (reluctantly)AFG in the middle.
