Chris Brown starting at forward, backup keeper
By: Bob Kellett | June 1st, 2008
Andy Mac reports that the emergency keeper for the Timbers tonight will be forward Chris Brown. With Ray Burse called up by FC Dallas on short notice and the Timbers only taking two keepers on this trip, Brown will be the emergency man if Jordan James goes down with an injury. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen. The starting lineup against Rochester will be:
GK: James
Def: S. Thompson, Knowles, J. Thompson, Griffin
Mid: Gregor, Poltl, Higgins
For: Brown, Bagley, Suzuki
I suspect this will be more defensive than it appears. Like the game in Seattle, Portland will probably have Bagley up top with Brown and Suzuki playing more withdrawn.
