Ray Burse training with the Timbers; Sam Reynolds gone?
By: Bob Kellett | March 27th, 2008
I very briefly took a look at the Timbers training this morning and saw that FC Dallas keeper Ray Burse is indeed training with the team. Burse, Jordan James and an unknown third keeper were being put trough the drills by the coaches. It was hard to get a sense of Burse by watching the drills, but he does look quick. Sam Reynolds was nowhere to be seen. My educated guess is that Reynolds’ trial has come to an end. It is also worth noting that I didn’t see Justin Thompson training. I’m not sure if he has arrived in Portland yet. Arsene Oka was also missing. I didn’t see any other new faces.

Word from the press release on JT was that he will join the team training on the 31st.

JT will be arriving in PDX at the end of the month. Too bad about Reynolds but I have faith in Brazeau as far as putting the best keeper out there.

Sam’s parents are still awesome. The man has played exactly 45 minutes for the Timbers (and that was in a friendly, vs Sunderland in 2005) and I still see his folks at games home and away (they were in Seattle a couple years back and also in San Fran last summer).
Cass & Craig RULE!
