When she roosts, she roosts for the Timbers
By: Bob Kellett | March 23rd, 2008
I am now officially the second most dedicated Timbers fan in my household. While my wardrobe consists of items almost exclusively Timbers green, I can’t beat out our Araucana chicken. She is so hardcore that she lays green eggs. They’re perfect for Easter and for throwing at the Sounders team bus.
One bit of speculation to report today. Eagle-eyed reader Finnegan notes that Sam Reynolds is the dapper looking blond keeper in this picture supplied by the team. Reynolds played for the Timbers in 2005, proving himself as a capable backup to Josh Saunders. Since then he has lived the life of the proverbial soccer journeyman, filling in for the Kansas City Wizards and Toronto FC among others. As recently as last weekend he was in the Chivas USA camp. His name came to my mind when there was mention of a Chivas keeper playing for the Timbers against Vancouver in Tukwila and that seems to have been the case.
It is far too early to say whether or not the team is going to sign him or whether he simply is an extra body, one that is familiar to Gavin Wilkinson and Jim Brazeau. Is Reynolds a starting keeper for 30 games at the USL First Division level? My gut says no, but my gut also said the same thing last year when we signed Josh Wicks.
Speaking of my gut, time to fill it with some of those green eggs. Happy Easter.

Cheers Bob,
Save all those green eggs so we show a great welcome to Shittle. The older the better.
Have a great Easter!Posted from
