Public money will be needed to remodel PGE Park again after it was done less then 10 years ago. With Montreal in a stadium that will work and Vancouver willing to make a move to BC Place it does not look good for Portland. St. Louis is still in the running as well. They recently signed a five-year lease to play in BC Place, a move some see as an interim step before moving into a new downtown stadium. Their biggest holdup is that the new stadium has not been approved by the powers that be. They have an owner with deep pockets who wants to make it happen. That’s 3 votes so the City Council is on board! Maybe Paulson should offer season ticket reservations for an MLS team just to test the support. I'd put $25.00 down to reserve a seat.
