Bryan Jordan Recalled by LA Galaxy; Harrison to start in Goal
By: Bob Kellett | September 3rd, 2008
Just what a team fighting for its playoff life needs. From the LA Galaxy notes:
Bruce Arena has recalled three players from their loan assignments with the Portland Timbers of the USL First Division for a week’s worth of training. Vardan Adzemian, Scott Bolkan and Bryan Jordan were on season-long loan agreements with the Timbers after signing with the Galaxy earlier this season. Jordan is the only one of the three to have played, for either the Galaxy or Timbers, appearing in one game for the Galaxy and nine games with Portland.
Their status for both Portland’s game on Thursday night against Miami and LA’s home game with Real Salt Lake on Saturday will be decided later in the week.
And suddenly I have a strong urge to kick Bruce Arena in the nuts.
Update: Brad Knighton is still with New England. Chase Harrison will start on Thursday.

I thought Adzemian & Bolkan had already been recalled during the last part of Gullit’s rein.
As for Jordan, I’m surprised that he wasn’t recalled earlier when Arena first came in…so he could evaluate all possible players initially. I’m thinking the recall at this time might be due to the international games this weekend and next week. Based on the national games LA is without Donovan, Beckham and probably Lewis.
And just when I was starting to like LA for all the Portland connections.

I was going to call Arena a horse’s ass — but horses’ asses aren’t necessarily reamed by Garden Weasels, and since that’s what I would like to see happen to Arena, I will have to think of another thing to call him.
Why does that hack keep getting work?

I felt completely furious when I heard that they are recalling BJ, especially since I know that if he goes back, he’ll just be going back for more bench and reserve team time. And this a day before a VERY critical match for us.
It’s amazing to think how much of an affect losing BJ and Wicks to LA (Why? What have they done there this season?) has affected our season, along with Burse being recalled (Once again, Why? What has he done since he went back?) when he was having a decent season, and even Knighton starting to settle in, then being recalled (once again, Why? What has he done since he went back?)
If we had Wicks and BJ all season, or even kept Burse all year, I think we’d be in a much better position than we are now.

Oh for the days when a loan was really a loan and not a tease. Remember when Josh Saunders was on loan to us for TWO YEARS and was only recalled momentarily. He even chose to be a Timber for the US Open Cup.
