Meet Mr. Magee

By: Bob Kellett | April 16th, 2009

What do ya know! An actual Timbers story that has nothing to do with stadiums, money, and misinformation. Granted it is a story about an assistant manager, but it is a story nevertheless. I’m always interested when a coach brings in another coach with experience to work under him. I am even more interested when that coach bringing in that other coach is a coach who guided his team to a last place finish and presumably is on the hot seat. It sure is easy to dismiss one coach and name his assistant as his replacement.

That isn’t going to happen this year, of course. We’re going to win the league and Mr. Magee is going to guide the PDL team to a championship. And the stadiums and the money and the misinformation will all sort themselves out.

Anyone have the dirt on who the Timbers are scrimmaging against on Saturday?

With the expansion of the MLS, I assume the Timbers are going to cease to exist?

Magee’s place of residence since moving to Portland: the couch at Wilkinson manor.

    No joke.

Bob, the scrimmage on saturday appears to be @ Pacific University (Forest Grove) in the evening, as per Josh Cameron. There is no “official” word found anywhere …. so, I’ll interpret that as “open to the public”. :)
I’ll try to make it …. Blazers who? :)
