I could picture Olum playing forward as a late game sub. I’m not sure if he is quite there in terms of 90 minutes. Interesting idea, though.

Speaking of the forward situation… I kind of like Bruce’s idea of trying Larry up front. His weakness is his technical skills, and his strength is his athleticism, speed, and strength. He’ll get fewer touches up front, so he wouldn’t have to worry about distribution and such. Just jump over people, run around people, and aim for the damn net when you get near the ball. Like Tennyson.

Excellent. Bryan Little has at least one built-in supporter already. I’ll be there tomorrow night screaming ALBA GU BRATH when he takes the pitch, and waving my Scotland scarf. Having a Scot on the squad is really going to ease me into rooting for the Timbers this season.

In other notes, that makes a World Cup scorer (Suzuki) and a Club World Cup player (Little) on the list of pickups for the Timbers. Not too shabby.

I guess that still is a possibility. I envision Little being more of a forward than a midfielder. A winger in the traditional sense. Gregor is also more of a forward since he plays no defense. I agree that on paper our forward spot looks like especially since Bagley could get hurt again and Brown/Suzuki are both getting up in age. Totori will be playing into May so if he is coming here we won’t know for at least a few more weeks.

I think we’re going to need to pick up another forward, and the article in the Columbian today did refer to signing another forward, possibly this week.

But there were no other players at Media Day yesterday other that those we know already, and Bryan Little who was announced today.

Maybe they will announce the Totori signing, pending the end of his season? It seems like a possibility still.
