The Monday Numbers
By: Bob Kellett | May 4th, 2009
Minutes Played
Cameron Knowles 270
Tony McManus 270
David Hayes 269
It is worth noting that other than the Iron Man Knowles only two players from the 2008 squad have seen any minutes thus far – Scot Thompson (136) and Takayuki Suzuki (166).
Shots
Mandjou Keita 9
Ryan Pore 7
Johan Claesson 5
The team is averaging 11 shots per game. I haven’t tracked down the 2008 total but my guess is that they didn’t take 11 shots per game last season. Keita is 6th in the league overall.
Fouls
Tony McManus 6
Takayuki Suzuki 4
Ryan Pore 4
Cameron Knowles 4
Not much of a surprise that the holding mid is the foul leader. Nor is it a surprise that Suzuki is up there. The numbers in the backline are a surprise. Hayes has one foul in 269 minutes. Stephen Keel and Scot Thompson also both have committed one foul. Mamadou Danso had a clean sheet on Saturday night. I’m sticking with my theory that this year’s club is less physical than last year’s. More talented too.
Yep, he should probably start
Brian Farber has 7 goals and 3 assists for Minnesota back in 2007. How did we let an Oregon State player go to Minnesota in the first place?
You’re old, I’m old
Alex Nimo was born in 1990, the same year I bought the jeans I am currently wearing.
Still a goal a game
Timbers regular season record under Gavin Wilkinson:

Happy that someone else does this
Here’s your weekly USL First Division review.
Happy that someone else does this part 2
Here’s your USL First Division attendance table. Look who’s top of the table. As long as Montreal never plays at home we’ll stay there.
Worth another look
And from another angle
Editor’s Note: Mondays are usually absent of Timbers news and I’m usually too punch drunk from the weekend to punch out my normal grammatically questionable drivel. In the interest of booting, booting, booting the ball gently down the week’s pitch, I’ll probably just post some statistics and such. Do you find this remotely interesting or useful?

Stat package is great. There is often a truth in numbers. Discovering what it is is the hard part.

Bob, you could post lolcat pictures and I’d enjoy it. Your blog is a beacon of joy and hope in a bleak and bitter internet.
